Akiva Primary School, London

Client: Akiva Primary School
Value: £5m
Duration: May 2007 to April 2008

Project Overview
A North London Primary School is entering the state school system and relocating to a newly constructed school building.

CPC’s Role
CPC was commissioned to project manage the relocation and provide strategic advice and contingency planning after the building contractors failed to meet the initial agreed completion date.

CPC’s role has specifically involved communicating and facilitating communication amongst all stakeholders, contingency planning, managing and understanding the operational requirements for the new school along with the physical relocation of the school.

The relocation was undertaken in two phases to accommodate partial handover of the school. In addition to the relocation CPC organised and implemented the necessary ongoing operational contracts the school will require as a result of entry into the state school system upon relocation.

Client Benefits
• Liaison and single point of contact between the project team and the school.
• Ensuring a consistent and structured approach to a two-phased seamless relocation.
• Communication amongst key stakeholders where previous communication relationships were ineffective.
• Strategic management of all relocation and operational issues to ensure the school is prepared for entry into the state school system.
