Project Overview
The Trust decided to explore developing a new Breast Cancer Centre at Wythenshawe Hospital. The provision of the new centre is designed to centralise the existing service and ensure the patient journey and experience will be at the forefront of the service delivery. The new Breast Care Centre allows the introduction of non-invasive clinical techniques to reduce patient morbidity and associated bed days.
CPC’s Role
CPC undertook and completed outline and full business cases which were successfully approved by the Strategic Health Authority. CPC have continued to provide strategic support and guidance through the continuing development of the project including securing commissioner support.

THE GENESIS APPEAL
The new breast care centre also incorporates Europe ’s first breast cancer prevention centre. The breast cancer prevention centre is being funded by the Genesis Appeal. The Genesis Appeal is a charitable organisation that has raised a considerable amount of money for breast cancer research.
