Project Overview
United Synagogue embarked on a refurbishment project at West Hampstead Synagogue, Grade II & II* listed, that commenced on site in November 2007 and was completed in early September 2009.
The project included the refurbishment and reconditioning of all major fabric and structures, including extensive work to the roof, the interior walls and ceilings, the exterior brickwork and guttering, and the unique stained glass windows; also the installation of a new heating system, disabled access facilities and modernisation of the lighting and cloakrooms.
CPC’s Role
CPC was appointed early in the construction phase to resolve a major delay and escalating costs on the project. CPC investigated the nature of the issues relating to the management of the project; provided assistance to address key project issues with the project team and produced a report outlining the findings and provide recommendations.
CPC was retained to act as client representative to manage the construction phase and support the contract administration activities through to successful completion.
