The Voluntary and Community Sector
Introduction
The Voluntary and Community Sector is at a critical point in its history. Both in terms of Government policy intentions, and in local commissioning arrangements, the sector has greater opportunity and more uncertainty than ever before. It seeks to balance a greater profile of its unique contribution against the risk of attrition to its value base as it juggles strategic alliance with commissioner’s requirements while responding effectively to the personalisation agenda.
CPC has a broad and detailed understanding of the growing contribution and importance of the Voluntary and Community Sector and of the opportunities and challenges facing social enterprise. Using this knowledge, we are able to support strategic partnerships, individual organisations, local authorities and primary care trusts to become more effective, efficient and client-focused organisations.
How CPC can help
Our strength at CPC (together with partners from Leadership Development, Accountancy and Youth Work consultancies) is in the provision of customised teams based on deep specialist knowledge and experience coupled with integrated generic consultancy services and project management.
We are able to:
- Help organisations working together to deliver best practice commissioning arrangements
- Advise on structures and capacity building to support better procurement arrangements between sectors
- Help organisation develop business cases and submissions for new or re-build capital programmes
- Develop intelligence to inform effective decision-making, through joint strategic needs assessments, development of area-based (neighbourhood) intelligence assessments and delivering evidence-bases for strategic and operational change.
- Translate intelligence and needs assessment information into strategy and commissioning intentions.
- Focus services more effectively on the customer, using the customer journey and Lean techniques, often delivering efficiency gains at the same time.
- Assist organisations in creating strategic and operational links that cross organisational boundaries and integrate services so that they are more effective and deliver better outcomes for their recipients
